One of our goals here at Ascend Adventure is to innovate, build and develop. We are all about teamwork and always striving to grow our community.
This is why we are excited to be part of the Governments new Kickstart Scheme, which allows us to support young people who are at risk of long term unemployment due to Covid-19 by giving them a 6-month work placement.
We have created 5 new roles for our new team members: Social Media Assistant, Program delivery assistant, Admin assistant, Gardening Assistant and Bush craft assistant / Site ranger.
The Kickstart Scheme also provides funding for our new employees to develop skills that will aid them in their career paths. It is important to us that our new starters can grow and have the resources to continue to learn more about what they are passionate about.
The team are already getting stuck in and we are excited to see them grow and make a positive impact at Ascend Adventure.
Here is what two of our new adventurers have to say about their experience with us so far:
Rhys (Activity Leader):
“In my first couple of weeks, I have been preparing the meadow for the new season. We have been clearing away overgrowth ready to use the fire pit and BBQ. I have taught some map-reading on a hike around the local areas and assisting with camp set up. I have enjoyed connecting with a lot of great people!”
Emily (Social Media Assistant):
“I am excited to be part of the Ascend Adventure team because I can develop my skills in digital marketing and work for a company that truly aligns with my values at the same time. It is a great opportunity!”
